All along the Middle-Ages, Spain was the meeting place of three brilliant civilizations. While Christians ruled the Northern regions and Muslims settled as a strong islamic power, the Jewish community was living peacefully with the other two. Sepharads were famous and powerful during the arabian conquest. Famous scientists and religious people came to Al-Andalus and became powerful in the fields of politics, religion, culture and trade. Their translation of arabic texts into latin permitted a coexistence of the three communities which – otherwise – would not have been possible. However, when the muslim power of Spain fell, Sepharads fled to Portugal and Northern Africa (today’s Morrocco and part of Algeria). This documentary film is a journey through Sepharad country, its ruins and reminiscences in architecture, poetry, proverbs,… a legacy time could not destroy.
